In computing there are several terms related to integrity. One of them is the term data integrity, which refers to the correction and complementation of data in a database. When the contents are modified with actions such as Insert, Delete either Update, the integrity of the stored data is modified. Therefore, if invalid or erroneous content or data is added or corrected, integrity ceases to exist.
Another computer term is Referential integrity, where an entity, which can be a row or a record, can be related or compared to other valid entities, which exist in a database. Such data for these valid entities is correct, and there is no missing data, unnecessary repetitions, or poorly resolved relationships.
Finally, when a message is sent from one person to another or from one machine to another, it is intended that this message will not be modified, even if the recipient cannot verify it.
So, it is said that the message integrity has been maintained, preventing it from being modified or manipulated by mistake or intentionally.
