In this case, it is usually called the ‘Judas kiss’ (in some Bible translations as the ‘Judas kiss’). It is mainly used as a way of greeting and farewell and to show affection. Depending on the sociocultural context, the place and the way in which it is given, the kiss can also symbolize, among others, respect, loyalty, admiration, peace, gallantry, healing or good luck.
