The water lily is a aquatic plant that belongs to the Nymphaeaceae family and whose scientific name is Nymphaea, although they refer to it as nymphea. She is also known by the names of water lily either lotus flower.
The water lily is a plant native to Africa and lagoon areas of Asia where it can be found in lakes or ponds with very calm or stagnant waters. It can be identified by having oval or round leaves and large petioles that float along with its flower.
Now, the water lily flower can be of different shades such as white, pink, crimson or yellow, making them very attractive. Furthermore, on the first day of its bloom, this flower emanates a fragrance very similar to that of brandy.
The water lily, being an exotic plant, is usually used in various pond or pool decorations. However, various care must be taken into account such as that it must constantly receive sunlight, the water must be free of contamination and it is recommended to remove dry leaves from the water.

The flowers of the water lily are large, with many petals and float on the surface of the water like the leaves of said plant. In the center are the pistils of the flower. The water lily blooms between the months of May and September and the flowers last about five days. The seeds of the water lily germinate at the bottom of the water.
