What is Kbps:
It is known as kbps either Kb/s to the acronym “kilobit per second”. It is a unit of measurement used on the Internet or other devices to measure the speed of information transfer through a network or telecommunications line.
As such, the kpbs is a unit of measurement normally used to measure in bits per unit of time, that is, to indicate the number of bits that are transmitted each second.
The kilobit is a unit that belongs to the International System of Units that is equivalent to sending or receiving 1000 bits per second.
Finally, the term “bit” is a contraction of the English expression “binary digit”, which in Spanish means “binary digit”.
Bit and Byte
First of all, it is important not to confuse KB with Kb, since the uppercase “B” means “bytes,” and the lowercase “b” means bits.
In consideration of the above, bit is the smallest unit of information, generally used to measure data transmission between devices. For its part, byte is used to designate the memory capacity of a device.
It is important to note that in binary code (base 2) a byte is equivalent to a set of 8 bits (1byte = 8 bits), and a kilobyte is equal to 1024 bytes (1KB = 1024 bytes). Likewise, with respect to data transfer rate, 1 kpbs is equivalent to 1000 bits.
Kpbs and mbps
Both are units of measurement used in computing and telecommunications to measure the speed of data transfer over a network.
Meanwhile, 1 Mbps is equivalent to 1000 Kbps.
