What is Franco:
The word franc is of Germanic origin frank (free, exempt) and has several meanings. Relating to a person, it means that someone is sincerehonest and straight.
In this sense, some antonyms can be: hypocritical, false and twisted. Although it is less used, it is sometimes also used as a synonym for liberal, bizarre and elegant.
Applied to a place, it means that it is exempt from taxes and contributions or has some privileges. In this sense, it is common to speak of a ‘free zone‘ to refer to a delimited area of a country that has tax benefits, for example, the Parque Central Free Trade Zone (Colombia).
The terms ‘ are also usedfree port‘ or also ‘free port’ to refer to a customs territory in which there is different legislation, especially on commercial issues. For example, the port of Punta Arenas (Chile).

It also refers to the Germanic peoples who conquered part of Gaul. It is generally used in the plural (‘the Franks’). It is also used to refer to the language of these peoples.
As a demonym, it is sometimes also used as a synonym for French. In this sense, it is used when it appears together with another demonym. For example, Franco-German or Franco-Spanish. It also forms derived words such as francophone and francophile.
The franc is the name of several currencies. It is legal tender in some countries such as Switzerland (in this case, the Swiss franc). It was also the name of the monetary unit of some countries such as France or Belgium.
