What is Blasphemy:
The blasphemy is a offense to a divinity. It is an insult or irreverence towards a religion or towards what is considered sacred. It is the defamation of the name of a god. The term blasphemy comes from the Greek “blaptein”what does it mean insultand “pheme”what does it mean reputation. Blasphemy is also an offensive word or act against any respectable person or thing.
In some countries there are laws in the code against blasphemy where the penalties can vary depending on their severity. Among these countries are: Germany, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland and others. Some countries have attempted to reform or repeal these laws.
In Muslim countries, blasphemy laws are stricter and the penalties are quite severe, with life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
For Judaism, those who blaspheme must be sentenced to death, according to the book of Leviticus (chapter 24), in the Old Testament.
In Christianity, as Jesus said, written in the Gospel of Saint Mark (chapter 3), all types of blasphemies are forgiven but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never obtain forgiveness, he will carry his sin forever.
