Jeans or jeans are a universal garment that has not stopped evolving since its origins. The word jean refers to a type of fabric very popular among Genoese merchants (the jean fabric made in Genoa was very similar to denim fabric).
Not all jeans are the same
The types of jeans vary depending on their characteristics: shot, cut and fabric. For decades, jeans were associated with young people and casual clothing, but over time this garment has adapted to the needs of everyone.
The straight or regular model is the most classic and adapts to all ages and situations. These are straight, high-waisted pants that are not tight at the ankle.
The skinny, also known as a cigarette, is made from a stretchy fabric and is worn very tight from the waist to the ankle. The slim is similar to the skinny but slightly wider at the ankle. Both versions have the purpose of highlighting the silhouette and both one and the other are a good option to hide wide hips. If the legs are excessively thin, it is better to choose a slim jean than a skinny one.
Regardless of the straight, slim or skinny style, new versions have appeared on the market in recent years, such as the bootcut, boyfriend, girlfriend, push up or super skinny. There are jeans for all tastes: aged, ripped, with a low or high waist, to wear every day or for special moments. One aspect to take into account is adapting each type of jean to the personal needs of consumers and, logically, to their morphological characteristics (in this sense, the shape of the rear of each one is the factor that determines the choice of one type or another). of jeans).
The first jeans appeared in the 19th century in California during the gold rush.
The gold rush attracted thousands of adventurers and fortune seekers from all over the world. In this historical context, the German merchant Levi Strauss opened an establishment in San Francisco to meet the needs of the miners. Treating his clients, he observed that the pants they wore were not appropriate for working in the mines and because of this he designed resistant pants using the fabric of the tents where the miners worked.
So that the fabric would not tear easily, he incorporated some copper rivets as a reinforcing element on the sides and in the pockets. Over time, the fabric used was dyed blue and the brand’s characteristic label was introduced.
Jeans type pants have been adapted to different fashion currents: to the greaser subculture of the 50s in the United States, to the hippie movement in the 60s, to heavy metal of the 80s or to western fashion.
