Planet Earth is the planet where we live and inhabit. If one were to think of everything that our planet contains, in the number of species that coexist, in the monumental works that man has created on it, one ends up realizing that the Earth is immense and that it offers a perfect balance in terms of nature, that unfortunately man has been in charge of manipulating even when it is known that such manipulation brings serious problems endangering species of living beings, as is happening with plant and animal species.
The Earth has a round shape, due to the force that the Sun exerts on it, and it is around the Sun that the Earth rotates in a translation movement that lasts 365 days (the days that the year lasts).
In addition, the Earth also performs a rotation movement, by which it revolves around its own orbit, and has a natural satellite, the Moon, which revolves around the Earth attracted by the force of gravity that our Planet exerts on it.
So far, the Earth is the only planet in the Solar System in which life develops, although for years scientists have been studying and investigating whether the development of living beings may be feasible on other planets in the same System, especially looking for indications of the existence of water and also taking into account the gravity of each one of them, which is what allows us, who live on Earth, to be settled on it and not floating through the air, as for example if it occurs on the Moon, and that was clearly seen when North American astronauts reached it in 1969 to explore it.
The Earth has different elements in its composition that make up the whole: for example, the biosphere is made up of all living beings (humans, plant species and animal species), while the hydrosphere is that part whose main composition is all the masses of water found on the planet: lakes, seas, rivers, large icebergs (water in a solid state or ice), among others.
The question about when Planet Earth was formed or originated has been the axis and center of debates, controversies and found positions among thinkers and scientists from all branches of science and various disciplines.
The truth is that the Earth began its origin more than four thousand five hundred million years ago, although the existing life on Earth arose much later, approximately one billion years ago. As a “house” of life, it is still today the only body in space known to be capable of hosting life.
Just as the origin of the Earth sparked numerous debates and investigations, also the fact of its “useful life”, that is, how long will Planet Earth “live” was also the center of speculation, research and reflections. In this sense, some scientists believe that the Earth will be able to host life for some five hundred million more years, at which time the radiation emanated by the Sun is expected to be much stronger than it is at present and begin to deteriorate the terrestrial biosphere to the point of producing its disappearance.
