The term billboard is used to refer to those hanging structures that are normally located on walls or in highly visible spaces in which notices, notifications, dates and different important information are placed so that interested people can access it and be aware of the transmitted data. In a slightly more metaphorical sense, the term is also used to talk about the cinema, theater and other shows that are presented at the moment in each region (for example in a city) despite the fact that they are not explicitly communicated through a billboard.

Billboards are well known and common in spaces where a lot of information is poured and those who pass through the place are invited or requested to find out about different data. Some of the most common settings are schools, universities, workplaces, doctor’s offices, supermarkets, banks, etc. All these spaces use the billboard as a fast, easy and accessible method to communicate data to a significant amount of the population, thus avoiding wasting time having to communicate everything to whoever needs it. Billboards can be very different from each other depending on the space in which they are placed.
